Sensitivity after whitening: what to note and who to contact
If you feel sensitivity, make a clear note of the experience and get appropriate advice. There is no benefit in ignoring discomfort to finish a cosmetic goal.
JayWhite · Client information guide

Describe what you feel
Whitening may cause sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity can also have other causes, so do not diagnose it solely from the timing of a recent appointment. A dentist can assess persistent symptoms and advise on treatment.
Make a short record
Write down when it began, whether it affects one area or several and what seems to trigger it. List the whitening and oral-care products used recently. This gives the person helping you more useful information than a general description such as “my teeth feel different”.
Avoid adding another treatment
Do not respond by applying more whitening or mixing products. Ask for advice before continuing optional whitening if you are uncomfortable. Severe pain, swelling or symptoms that are worsening warrant prompt dental care rather than waiting for the next booked whitening visit.
Tell the team before your next visit
If you have Premium booked, explain what happened between appointments before the second session. Call JayWhite for questions about your instructions, and use a dentist for diagnosis or dental treatment. Keep both sets of contact details accessible.
