Whitening basics
How does teeth whitening work?
Whitening is used to describe several different products and treatments. Knowing what each one actually does helps you compare like with like.
JayWhite · Client information guide

Bleaching and surface cleaning are different
Peroxide bleaching changes the appearance of stains within natural teeth. A stain-removal toothpaste primarily works on surface staining. These are different processes, so an everyday toothpaste and a whitening appointment should not be judged as interchangeable products.
Ask what your appointment includes
At JayWhite, Triple includes a consultation, whitening session and aftercare guidance. Premium includes two Triple visits a week apart. Ask about the product, the steps during your appointment and how your starting point will be recorded. A treatment name alone does not explain the process.
Use a specific comparison checklist
Write down the full price, visit count, deposit, product information and follow-up arrangements for each option you are considering. Include the time you need to travel and return for another appointment. This makes the decision more practical than comparing a single advertised shade number.
Start with your own questions
Explain what you hope to change and whether you have whitened before. Bring product names or packaging if you used a home kit. Read the treatment comparison below to see how the JayWhite options differ before selecting dates.
