Aftercare
What can you eat after teeth whitening?
Ask for the food guidance that belongs to your treatment. The colour of a meal alone is not a complete guide to nutrition, dental health or aftercare.

Clarify what you were actually advised
If your instructions include temporary restrictions, ask which foods they cover and for how long. Tell the team about dietary needs before accepting a suggested menu. This guide does not impose a “white diet” or a universal list of forbidden foods.
Use meals you already know
Plan a familiar meal that fits the instructions you received and any dietary advice from your clinician. You do not need a special branded meal plan. If a recipe contains an ingredient you are unsure about, ask rather than removing whole food groups on the basis of a social post.
Keep food safety and nutrition in view
A pale snack can still contain sugar, while a colourful food may be part of your normal balanced diet. Do not use appearance as the only reason to label food healthy or unhealthy. For individual nutrition needs, speak with an appropriate health professional.
Write down the answer
Save the meal-related instructions alongside product directions and the time of your next appointment. If you cannot follow a restriction, say so and ask for a practical alternative. See our aftercare questions guide for a checklist to use before leaving.
